Christmas Card Challenge Week #21

Hi everyone!

I hope your weekend has been a nice one.  I'm afraid this post is going to be short and sweet.  I have lots to do today.  This weeks challenge is to create a Christmas card using the color pink as the main color.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

When Sparkle said use pink as the main color, I believe I took her seriously. lol  I paired it with brown to create one of my favorite color combos.

I hope you'll head over to the challenge blog to see the other wonderful cards the DT have created for you today.

Hugs!

Simplicity

This word has a new meaning in my life.  With everything going on at work, I find that I need to simplify things, personal wise.  My job is very important to me, and I've worked hard to get to where I am, and I need to make sure that I am focused on maintaining my position.  I'm not one who usually posts about personal stuff unless it means there needs to be a change made, and I've come to that point.  Although it has been a fantastic time, I have resigned from the Unscripted Sketches design team.  I love everyone in that group, but I feel my time with them has run its course.  I have also decided to start distancing myself from the people who cause stress and drama, in my personal life.  This decision was the hardest to make, because I value my friendships, but I think it's for the best.  Me personally, I don't have a lot of issues like that, and I'm not one who deals well with that kind of stuff.  I believe I have reached my limit.  I'm also going to get back to scrapbooking more, for fun.  I've got tons of pictures I have neglected, and I am ready to jump back into that.  I will still continue to post every Sunday for Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenges, but my blog won't be as busy as it has in the past.  I know that subscribers will unsubscribe, and followers will start to stop following, but I'm ok with that.  I love everyone I've become friends with the last couple years, but I need to do what is best for me and my family.  I know all of you will understand.

On a happier note.  I'm excited to share with ya'll that I am the new Friday and Saturday night crop hostess at Scrappers Boutique.  If you're in the DFW area and want to stop by, let me know and I'll give you the info as to where you can find me.  I'd love to meet some of my blog friends! :)

Have a wonderful day!
Much love,

Christmas Card Challenge Week #20

Hi everyone!

How has your weekend been?  Did you get lots accomplished or were you like me and lazed around the house? :)  I honestly didn't feel like doing anything.  I got up early, darn internal alarm clock, but then just vegged out in front of the TV for most of the day.  I did get one thing accomplished though.  I watched everything that was recorded on my DVR and then cleaned it all out. Yay!

I am excited to share another Christmas card with you today.  I love saying that!  I feel like I'm cheating a bit cause it's only April, and I'm already working on my Christmas cards.  lol  Ok, so maybe cheating isn't the right word.  I feel like I'm ahead of the game.  Yeah, that works better. :)  This week Sparkle challenged us to use a digital image.  For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

Now, being Hispanic, it's a bit more "interesting" trying to find the things I want in Spanish, or that represent my ethnicity.  When I saw this freebie from Dustin Pike though, I just had to grab it!  Isn't this snowman the cutest?!  I absolutely LOVE that he's wearing a poncho and has maracas!  Cause, that's what all Hispanic snowmen should look like! lol  I colored him in with my Copics and then cut him out with my Nesties.  I added my sentiment, white dots, some bling, and I was done.  I didn't do a whole lot with this card as I wanted the image to be the main focus.  I think it's adorable.  This card is also smaller at 4 X 4.

So, are you inspired to color a digi image and make a Christmas card?  Good, now go forth and do so!  lol (I've always wanted to say that!)  The other projects posted today are fabulous as well!  I hope you'll head over to the challenge blog and check them out.

Have a great weekend!
Hugs!

Party!

Hey ya'll!

How was your weekend?  Did you enjoy the nice weather?  Were you totally engulfed in craftiness?  Did you do nothing and be lazy?  Either way, I hope it was wonderful!  I recently stopped into Scrappers Boutique, and found that Cherie had some wonderful new papers and stamps in stock.  I had been wanting to purchase a stamp set with robots in it for a while now, but wasn't totally sure which robots I wanted, there are so many to choose from.  Anyway, when I saw this adorable lil guy, I couldn't resist!

And those papers!  My gosh they're SO fantastic, and coordinate perfectly!  I just love these colors together.  I stamped him twice onto white cardstock and colored him in with my Copics.  I then cut out and popped his head and body up with pop dots, for a bit of dimension.  My layout is Jen's Sketch for You To Try from Saturday.  I just love how this card came out and cannot wait to share it with Cherie!

I hope you have a wonderful week!

Christmas Card Challenge Week #19

Happy Sunday!

Yay for Sunday!  It's another day that I get to sleep in, a bit.  I love Saturday's and Sunday's, and vacation days!  Those are about the only times I really get to sleep in, and I take every advantage of that. :)  Sunday's also mean I get to show you my newest Christmas card.  The challenge this week is a sketch.  I love sketches!  It's also my first week to host the challenge.  So cool!

For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I tried something a bit different for this card.  I used my thicker patterned paper/cardstock as the base for my card.  I wasn't sure if it would work or not, but I figured if it didn't, I could start over.  Fortunately, it worked out pretty well.  I tried to stick with coordinating papers and colors, and this is my result.  I really stuck to the sketch too, because I liked it, as is.

So now it's time to hurry over to the Christmas Card Challenge blog to see everyone else's beautiful cards.  Have you been able to play along yet?  Are you building up your stash of Christmas cards?  I hope so!  Think of the huge stress relief at the end of the year when it comes time to send them out!  Yay for planning ahead!

Have a great day!
Much love,

Unscripted Sketches Challenge #50

Happy Saturday everyone!

It's Unscripted Sketches time again and this week I've got a layout to share.  For this weeks sketch, click HERE.  I'm going to say it again, I'm totally in LOVE with these Cosmo Cricket Core'dinations papers!  They're absolutely fantastic!  Can you tell which is my favorite pattern? lol  I'm a bit bummed that you can't see the light pink stamping I did to the background on this layout. :(

So, I have a bit of a story about this layout today.  See, this picture is one of many from the engagement album I made for my sister years ago.  Why is it in a new layout you ask?  Well, recently, I got a text message from my sister.  She was kind of upset, and stated that Josh had locked himself in their bathroom, refusing to come out.  He had accidentally knocked over his cup of coffee and it landed all over their album.  Now, even though I like to give my brother in law a difficult time, I texted him and explained that the book was just paper and pictures glued together, and that I could fix it.  After about 20 minutes of reassuring him that accidents happen, he was out of the bathroom, and all was ok.  He came up to the DFW area for work, and brought the album to me.  After looking over everything, I realized that all of the pictures were totally safe, and only a few pages were stained.  I started re-doing those pages and realized the rest of the book looked so "elementary" compared to those, so I am going to re-do ALL of the pages.  Their engagement album is going to be all new and improved!  I just hope they like it as much as their old one.

The projects over at the US blog today are really beautiful.  I hope you'll check them out and join us for this weeks challenge.  Also, I know you'll be excited to see who the Top 3 are this week. :)

Have a wonderful day!
Hugs!

Another Birthday Card

Hey everyone!

How's your week going so far?  Mine is crazy busy, as usual, but I'm actually quite content this week.  That could all change at the drop of a hat, but I'll take it for as long as I can get it.

I have a card to share today.  I was hoping I'd get a photo while the sun was out, but no such luck.

I am loving these Cosmo Cricket Core'dinations papers!  And, did you see that?  I tied another bow!  I'm so easily amused, I know.  lol  This card is a bit different as I made it 3 1/2 X 5 1/2.  I hope my friend enjoys her birthday card.  I love these colors together.  My mojo is a bit lacking, and I've got a busy work schedule this month, so I probably won't be posting much.  I will have a few things for ya though. :)

I hope ya'll have a great day!

Christmas Card Challenge Week #18

Hi everyone!

I'm really excited to bring you my first Christmas card as one of Sparkle's "elves". :)  This week we were given an inspiration photo to use, and my card below is how I interpreted it.

For this weeks challenge, click HERE.

I tried to incorporate all of the things I saw in the photo.  The snowman, the snowflakes, the colors, all of it! I'm actually quite happy with how this turned out, but was a bit bummed that you can't see how sparkly and glittery the blue embossed paper is.  I love how much it sparkles in real life.  I'm loving that new SU! border punch as well.  I think I've used it quite a bit since I got it.  Woo hoo for new toys!

Now I know I'm not the only one who thinks making a Christmas card or two a week is a fantastic idea. Why not go check it out? There are some pretty fab happenings going on and I know you'll enjoy what you see.  I hope you'll also head over to the Christmas Card Challenge blog to see what the other fantastic designers have created.  And Sparkle's card?  Gorgeous, as always!  She's an amazing paper artist, and I'm so happy she's chosen me to be a part of this DT.

Have a wonderful day ya'll!
Hugs!

Unscripted Sketches 1 Year Blog-iversary & Challenge #49

Good Saturday morning!

I hope you're well and having a wonderuful weekend so far.  I'm so happy that you have stopped by today.  It's a wonderful day for Unscripted Sketches!  We've turned one and we're celebrating with a Treasure Hunt!  How fun is that?!  You'll have to scroll down for my clue.  I hope you have tons of fun trying to find the project I've chosen for the hunt.  For the details on how to play along, see THIS post.

For this weeks sketch challenge, click HERE.

I stuck pretty closely to the sketch this week, again.  I really like the different papers and textures on this card.  I'm thinking that maybe I should have stamped the sentiment on a different panel first, instead of right onto the dotted paper, but eh, guess it's too late to do that now.  I hope my mom likes her card!

Now, onto the fun stuff!  My clue for the treasure hunt is:  Clean and simple with light and dark contrast and lots of different textures. It's a bit "off", but royally embellished with one of my favorite things.

I hope you'll head over to Unscripted Sketches to see who this weeks top 3 are and to see what projects have been posted for ya.  It's also the starting point of the Treasure Hunt.  Good luck!!

Have a wonderful day!
