Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #58

It's the last Monday of the month!  Can you believe it?!  I'm still trying to figure out where all of my time has gone this year.  lol

The good thing, is that it's Monday.  And Monday brings us to another Cuttlebug Spot challenge.  For this weeks challenge, we were to create a project with a winter theme.  Now, you'll notice that there is a small difference in my card today.  I actually colored an image with my Copics for a change!  I've had tons of stamped images that were gifted to me, but I don't think about them when I'm creating.  I also feel very elementary when it comes to coloring with my Copics.  I invested a ton of money into purchasing all of them, but I don't know how to use them that well.  Go figure.  For my card this week, I used CPS141 for the sketch.

I'm not sure how I feel about this card yet, but I love blue, so I guess it's ok. lol  I think I need to block out some time to just sit and color with my Copics.  I am starting to think I wasted my money because of how little I use them.  Don't be surprised if I start posting with tons of colored images now. :)

I hope you'll head over to The Cuttlebug Spot to see what my fellow DT members have created for you today.  They're just as amazing as they always are!

Have a great day!

Piling It On!

Hola!

It's been a while since I've had two posts in one day, but I'm really excited about this card.  This is the first time I've joined the Pile It On challenge, and boy did I ever pile it on!  Actually, it's my first time participating in quite a few of the challenges.  To me, the card looks simple, but once you scroll down to see the list of challenges I added to it, you'll know why I wanted to share this one right now.  lol

Here is my list of challenges:
Pile It On Challenge #26 - Flowers & Flourishes (I stamped my flourishes on the Damask paper and there are small flowers along the scalloped cream colored paper)
365 Cards Day 273 - Damask Pattern
Allsorts Challenge Week #29 - Buttons
Frosted Designs - Same Shape, Different Size Challenge (My sentiment is matted on two different sizes of the same Nestabilities)
Fashionista Friday #12 - Thankful
La La's Weekly Wednesday Challenge #14 - Recipe: 3 Patterned Papers, 2 Colors of Cardstock, 1 Embellishment (I used buttons)
Banana Split Sunday 11/22 - I Am Thankful
Scrapsketch - Card Sketch #11
Clover Challenge Thursday #41 - Thankful

Wow, I don't think I've ever had this much luck combining challenges.  I think I'm going to have to try this more often!  What do ya'll think?  Did I do a good job piling it on? lol

Unscripted Sketches #33

Hi ya'll!

I hope you had a safe and happy holiday weekend, enjoying time with loved ones and friends.  We went to Stephen's sisters house for a fantastic meal, and a lot of quality family time.  It was awesome, and I ate way too much! lol

It's Saturday, which brings us to another Unscripted Sketches challenge.  I'm really excited about this project because it's different than any other layout I've created, so far.  I didn't stick exactly to the sketch either.  Here is what I came up with.

I'm so blessed to have the mother that I do, and that we have become extra close over the past few years.  I was a bit of a troublemaker growing up, imagine that!  I thank God that my mother has the patience and strength she has to put up with me.  She did, however, give me the whole "just wait till you have kids" thing, and boy was she right!  My daughter is my angel!  She's gorgeous, and smart, and funny (and VERY tall), and I love her unconditionally.  Unfortunately, she's now 13, and I now know what my mom meant!  I wouldn't change anything though.  I'm so blessed to have these two amazing people in my life, and I'm thankful for everyday with them.

This layout is also the next project I created for the Lily Pad.  I got the flower patterned paper and the Prima flower from the store, and paired that with some items I had in my stash.  You can find just about everything I used on this layout in their store, and I know they'd be happy to help if you wanted to purchase anything.  You can reference my Mom & Sydney layout for info.  Their store info is listed below.

All I Want For Chrismas...

...is him!

How about a bit of after Thanksgiving eye candy?  I don't think I've ever really paid much attention to David Beckham until a friend of mine sent me this picture, showing me who she was talking about.  All I can say is, WOW!  He's lookin pretty hot in this picture!  Has anyone else known that he was this hot?  If so, how come no one told me?! LOL

Enjoy!

I hope everyone has a safe and happy Thanksgiving!  Have a wonderful day spending quality time with family and friends.  Good luck to all of you who are going to be brave enough to shop on Black Friday too! lol

Thankful For You

Hola!

How are ya'll today?  I'm glad it's Tuesday!  We've got Thursday and Friday off, which means I only have to come to work one more day this week.  Boy do I love holidays! lol

I got some more time this past weekend to join a few more challenges.  Below is a list of challenges included in my project.

Crazy 4 Challenges #12 - Sketch Challenge
Color Throwdown #69 - Chocolage, Olive, Dark Red, Cream
Stamp Something - Thank You Somethings Challenge

I've already mailed off all of my Thanksgiving cards, but I think I will hand deliver this one to Stephen's sister on Thursday.  She is being gracious enough to host Thanksgiving at their home this year.  I hope you guys have a fantastic day!

ETA: The background paper is a page I tore out of an old book.  I'm in love with this, so I'll probably be using it more often as well.

Hugs!

My Sister

Hi ya'll!

We got a break from the Cuttlebug Spot this week but will be back next Monday with another project.

This layout is my second project for the Lily Pad.  My brother in law caught this picture of my sister last winter, and I just had to print it in 5 X 7 and use it.  I love how the background seems to be washed out a bit, like it's moving, but she's standing still.  I paired it with a music quote that fit the picture, and paper, as well.  I always think of music being a part of my sisters life, so this layout was easy to pull together.

My sister is 6 years younger than I am and ever since I can remember, she has always been the one singing, or humming.  They say that's a sign of happiness, and I can believe that.  She's one of the best people I know, and always has a smile to offer when I seem to have lost mine.  We've had a bit of a rough childhood, and I always did my best to try to protect her, and my brother.  In spite of everything, she has become an amazing, beautiful, fantastically adorable human being.  I'm honored to be her big sister, and SO blessed that God chose us to be family.  We truly fit the saying: "Sisters by chance, friends by choice", and I don't know what I'd do without her!

The music patterned paper is the only item from the Lily Pad, but I did notice they carry just about everything else used in the layout, in store.  Again, should you be interested in purchasing anything, I've listed the store info below.  Please reference my Music Layout for any products used.

PDCC #5 - Merry Christmas

Good Sunday morning!

I was so excited to make the Fab 4 last week that I just had to play along with another Play Date Cafe challenge!  This weeks colors are light blue, silver, purple and white.  I absolutely LOVE these colors together!

These colors together totally make me think of Christmas.  Now, I've had all of my Christmas cards done for a while, but this is one of many like this.  It's actually a pocket card (I got the idea from someone off YouTube) and I'm going to put a packet of hot chocolate in it.  I've decided to make one for each of my co-workers.  Yep, they're pretty spoiled.  LOL

Have a wonderful day!

Unscripted Sketches #32

Hi everyone!

I'm SO glad it's Saturday!  My weeks seem to fly by these days.  We're in the process of switching to a new system at work, and the training, and tweaking things have got my head spinning.  I've worked really long hours for the last couple weeks, so I'm always excited when the weekend arrives.  How are all of you doing today?  I hope you've got some fun things planned! :)

So it's Saturday, and I have another Unscripted Sketches project for you!  This week I decided to use the sketch for a gift.  One of my co-workers is celebrating a milestone anniversary (today in fact) and I decided to use some of the information he's given me, in conversations, to create an anniversary gift for him and his wife.  I took the lyrics to their favorite song, "Right Down the Line" by Gerry Rafferty, and framed them.  Here is the result.

I wanted to keep it simple, and elegant.  Their wedding colors were black and white, and from what it sounds like, very elegant.  I stamped directly onto the matte frame, and then added some ribbon, and Prima flowers.  I absolutely adore the way this turned out.  It's beautiful in that frame.  I hope they liked it!

This week is another fabulous week, full of gorgeous projects, at Unscripted Sketches.  I know you will agree with me once you see everything that has been posted.  Hopefully you'll get the chance to play along with us also!

Much love!

SPCC #24 Birthday Wishes

Howdy ya'll!

It seems like I've got tons of birthdays happening all within the same week!  Here is another birthday card I put together for my co-worker.  I paired it with SPCC #24 - Real Red, Certainly Celery & Bashful Blue.

I don't know what it is about the use of red with blue or green together that always makes me think of birthday cards.  It must have something to do with my past, maybe?  I'm excited that I got to use my Top Note die again.  I keep forgetting I have it. lol  It's like playing with new toys when I find the stuff I forget I have.  Yay!

I hope you have a fabulous day!

Birthday Wishes

Howdy ya'll!

Here is a birthday card I created for a friend.

I've had the blue patterned paper in my stash for ages, and am happy to finally use it up.  Blue and yellow is another of my favorite color comos, and I think the small amount of bling on the blue PP adds just the right touch of elegance to it.  I hope my friend liked her birthday card!

Have a wonderful Monday!

Cuttlebug Spot #57

Hey everyone!

I hope you've had a good weekend.  It was nice here, but I didn't leave the house much.  I was working on some more crafty stuff.  :)

This weeks Cuttlebug Spot challenge is to create a project with a turkey on it.  I don't own any turkey stamps or images (guess that's going on my list now too), so I downloaded this cute image off the internet.  Isn't he just the cutest?!

I paired this weeks project with Color Throwdown #68, which was Real Red, Only Orange, Crushed Curry and a dark neutral.  For the embossing, I used the Pumpkin Harvest embossing folder.  Instead of inking the embossed side, I flipped it over and sponged the indented side with Crushed Curry classic ink.  I think I dig the look of it.

I hope you'll head over to The Cuttlebug Spot to see what other fabulous creations have been posted for you today.  I know that all of my fellow DT members have some wonderful stuff to show you this week.

Hugs!

Masculine Birthday

Hello!

It's been a while since I've had a Sunday post.  Yesterday evening I got a few extra minutes, so I participated in a couple challenges.  Below is my card for the following challenges:

Jen's Sketch For You To Try this week.
Crazy 4 Challenges Week #11 - Acetate
Play Date Cafe Color Challenge #4 - Blue/Green, Chocoate Brown, Tan (I used kraft) & Cream
2 Red Bananas Recipe Challenge on 11/8 - 3 Eyelets, 2 Pieces of Ribbon, Oval or Ovals

I believe this is the best looking masculine card I've ever created, though I'm not sure I like the idea that you can see the Glossy Accents where I attached the piece of acetate to the card.  Oh well!  I needed a birthday card for a friend this week, and he's very near and dear to my heart, so I wanted to make sure his card was extra special.  I hope he likes it!

I hope you have a fabulous day!

Unscripted Sketches #31

Hiya!

It's Saturday, yay!  This weekend is supposed to be nice here in North Texas, so I hope they're right!  I'm still waiting for it to cool off so it feels like fall here.  Hopefully soon!

This weeks Unscripted Sketches sketch is a lot of fun.  I flipped the sketch to fit the idea I had in my head.  Here is what I came up with.

I tried to add elements that would give a lot of different textures.  I stamped the cardbase with my Woodgrain background stamp, then embossed the green piece of cardstock with my Cuttlebug.  I used a border punch, and colored in the leaves and ear of corn with markers for more added interested also.  What do you think?  I think my card looks very simple and plain compared to what the rest of the DT created for you today.  I'm happy with it though. :)

I hope you'll head over to the Unscripted Sketches blog to see everyone's projects today!

Hugs!

Pumpkin Patch

Hi ya'll!

I'm SO excited to bring you the first project I created for the Lily Pad store.  I thought this paper was fabulous, and couldn't help pairing it with this adorable picture of my niece, Mia, and nephew, Kaden, at the pumpkin patch last fall.  The colors in the picture paired really nicely with the colors on the paper.

I've had these white sticker letters in my stash FOREVER, and finally got the chance to use them.  I think they go really well together.  I couldn't resist using the huge, printed Prima flower on this layout.  It also goes well with the colors on the patterned paper.  I think my brother and sister in law will be happy with this layout.  Aren't the kiddos adorable?!

The patterned paper and Prima flowers are from the Lily Pad, and everything else is from my stash.  Should you be interested in purchasing anything featured, please contact the Lily Pad and reference my Pumpkin Patch layout.  I've listed the store info for you below.  All of the ladies there are absolutely wonderful and are more than happy to help!

Cuttlebug Spot #56

Hey ya'll!

I hope you had a wonderful weekend, and got lots of crafty stuff done.  I for one, got TONS done this weekend.  I didn't do anything but create project after project.  I will have tons of stuff over the next couple weeks to share with you.

It's Monday, which brings us to another Cuttlebug Spot challenge, to include fruit on your project.  This weeks challenge was quite difficult for me, as I don't own many items in my stash that have fruit on them.  I'll have to add fruit to the list of items I don't have.  I used THIS sketch, slightly modified, and am pleased with my results.

I love how the small orange pearls add such a nice touch to the sentiment.  I debated on what to add to make the sentiment stand out a bit more.  I also traced the orange segments I used for the flower center with a glitter pen for a bit of added bling.  I love the Fleur de Lis embossing folder!  In real life this card is actually much prettier.

I hope you'll head over to The Cuttlebug Spot to see what everyone has created today.  They're simply fabulous!

Have a great day!

Grateful

Hiya!

It's Sunday already and I feel as if my weekend flew by.  I am happy that I got lots of time to myself yesterday, and got lots done.  I had a wonderful birthday, and thank all of you for the birthday wishes!

I'm continuing on today with doing nothing but catching up on some challenges I've wanted to play along with for a while, but didn't have the chance to.  This card combines THIS sketch with THIS color challenge: red, orange, yellow and brown.

I'm really happy with how it turned out.  I've had this orange butterfly die cut for a while and was looking for the perfect opportunity to use it.  I think it's really pretty along with the other colors.  I wasn't sure if I was going to be able to pull this off, but am now thinking it's not so bad.  I had a slight problem when I stamped the sentiment, but covered it with a silver heart brad that worked out really well.  See, you never would have known had I not told ya! LOL

I hope everyone has a fantastic, peaceful Sunday!
Hugs!

Unscripted Sketches #30

Happy Saturday everyone!

Today is my favorite day of the year.  It's my birthday, and it's the one day that I don't have to do anything I absolutely don't want to. :)  So, for this birthday, my 34th, I've made plans to stay home, be a bum, eat cake, and scrap the day, and night away!  Sounds like heaven to me at the moment!  I've decided to extend the blog candy deadline, so I will be announcing that later in the month.

Today brings us to another Unscripted Sketches Sketch it Saturday challenge!  This weeks sketch is another fantastic one, and can be used in many different ways.  I've decided to create another layout in hopes of trying to get caught up again on all of my pictures I've taken recently.  I wanted to use the colors in the photo, which are actually quite fantastic together.  I love the red, black and white or cream color combo.  It's very appealing to my eye, and has kind of an elegant feel to it.  So here is my layout.  This is my new fur-nephew, Vinyl.  He's about 7 months old, and the most adorable thing ever!!

I am actually quite pleased with my results, as I combined flowers and flourishes with a masculine theme.  I love the little paw prints and bones border stamp also.  I finally got to use it!  I used some black fiber along the strip of striped paper, under the flower so that it would give the layout more dimension, and to try to mimic his soft fur.  I'm thinking I may frame this and give it to my sister and brother in law as a Christmas gift.  They're unable to have children, so he will be their "baby" for as long as God allows them to have him.

The fantastic design team at Unscripted Sketches have created more amazing projects for your viewing pleasure today.  I so hope you'll head over there and check them out, and maybe join us for this weeks sketch challenge.

Have a wonderful day!

Time for A Change!

Hi Everyone!

I decided that it was time to update my blog again.  I changed the background, colors, and pictures and I've also updated some of the info on my sidebars.  What do ya'll think?  I'm loving the photo on my blog header!  I immediately knew what I wanted to do when my friend sent me this gorgeous picture of the Aspen trees he took.  Don't you just love fall?  *sigh*

Due to a heavier work schedule, and the need to prioritize things, I have resigned from the Jazzy Inspirations design team.  It has been an absolute pleasure working with Tenia and all of the amazing designers.  I hope you will continue to visit them often!

While on vacation last weekend, my mother talked me into stopping into their new lil scrapbook store called the Lily Pad.  I was impressed with their selection since the town my mom lives in is only about 1,000 people.  I was doing my best not to spend too much money (yeah, right!) when my mom introduced me to the owner.  We got to chatting about paper crafting and I found out she didn't have a design team yet.  It was then that she asked if I would be interested in becoming the first.  I was quite surprised, but agreed that I would put together a few things for her to display in the store.  I'm really quite excited, and I hope she enjoys the things I've got in store for her.  I will be taking pictures of the items I will be sending her and posting them on my blog.  If anyone is in NW Iowa and is interested in information about The Lily Pad, it's listed on my sidebar.  If you're in the area, and have the opportunity, stop in and say hello!

So I'm off to finish up some crafty stuff, and get ready for work tomorrow.  Have a wonderful evening!
Hugs!

Cuttlebug Spot Challenge #55

Hi everyone!

I hope your weekend was a good one, filled with lots of good things!  The weather here in the Dallas area has been wonderful lately.  I have tried to find any reason I can to be outside, enjoying it.  I'm so happy that our 100 degree weather has finally subsided for this year.

It's Monday, and that means it's time for another Cuttlebug Spot challenge.  This weeks challenge is to create a Thanksgiving project.  I am slowly working on all of my Thanksgiving cards, so this challenge was perfect in helping me to accomplish one more of them.

You can't really tell in the photo, but I pained the grungeboard flourish with crackle paint and then inked with Antique Linen distress ink.  The Fleur de Lis border punch is one of my favorites right now.  I love how elegant it is, and it goes really well with my card.

I hope you'll head over to The Cuttlebug Spot to see what everyone has created for today.  They're nothing short of fabulous!

It's the last week to enter to win some blog candy!  Don't forget to add your name to the list!

Have a wonderful day!
