Papertake Weekly Sketch #9 & CC207 - Hi!

I always find it a bit difficult to create cards that look as nice as everyone else's. I'm limited in some of my supplies, so I'm always left to try to figure out what to do with the ideas I have in my head. For this card, I combined this weeks Papertake Weekly sketch and the SCS Color Challenge which was to use Pumpkin Pie, Summer Sun and Kiwi Kiss. All in all I think it turned out nice, and I have a new affection for green. This will be my last post until next week as I am on vacation until Tuesday, and am headed out of town. I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!! Hugs,

CBCC #27 - Happy!

A lot of my cards recently have the word "happy" in them. I think they are a reflection of how I'm feeling these days. Not to mention I'm on VACATION for the next few days! I'm really, really, REALLY happy about that!! LOL I'm headed out with Becky for a girls weekend at a scrapbooking retreat. I'm SO excited! This is my take on this weeks Created by Courtney challenge, which was a color challenge. She gave us Close to Cocoa, Very Vanilla and Tempting Turquoise. I'm not a huge fan of any shade of turquoise, so this was hard for me. Ultimately, I love my little scallop card. It's cute! Have a great evening!

CD05 - Happy For You!

Ok, so I'm only a few hours late, right? LOL It has been crazy busy, and I forgot to schedule this to post, so here it is...very late! Our challenge this week for The Color Dare was Orchid Opulence, Pacific Point, and Pink Pirouette. I stamped my flowers in Pacific Point and Pink Pirouette, and outlined the white parts with my clear Stardust Pen, and the centers with my yellow Stardust Pen. I then pop dotted them onto their stems. I layered that onto a piece of Bella Rose DSP in Pink Pirouette and Whisper White that I ran through my Threading Water border punch. I tied my Pacific Point ribbon around my card base, and added a Taggers Dozen sentiment, distressed with Pink Pirouette. My focal image was popped onto the card base with pop dots also, and then I finished it with a some bling. You should head on over to The Color Dare blog to see the other beautiful creations by Riley, Deb & Mandy! Have a fabulous evening! Supplies: Paper: Bazzill Basics, Bella Rose DSP, Whisper White Ink: Pacific Point, Pink Pirouette, Ranger Black Archival Accessories: Bling, Pacifit Point Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Clear & Yellow Sakura Stardust Pens, Foam Adhesive, Fiskars Threading Water Border Punch

CB Spot Challenge #19 - Thank You!

Not too long ago a friend of mine helped me out with a huge project. I'm SO thankful to have the wonderful people in my life that I do. I decided to use this weeks challenge over at The Cuttlebug Spot for the special Thank You I need to send. The challenge was to use buttons on your project. I think this glittery button goes perfectly with this awesome, shimmery, striped cardstock I've been hoarding. It's very simple and elegant. I hope she likes it! I'm really happy with the way it turned out. Have a great day!

Birthday's and Babies!

Mikey turned 5 on Thursday, so today we celebrated with a nice party. I can't believe how much he's grown! And to think, he's 5 already! Wow, time flies! He loved blowing out his candles so much that we let him do it twice. And then, of course, we had to open presents.

Our new nephew E, came to the party as well! I was so excited to see him! I hadn't seen him since he was about two weeks old, so I took lots and LOTS of pictures. Between Mikey and E, I think I got almost a hundred pictures. I love babies! And aren't those shirts adorable?! I love them!!

Baby E slept most of the evening, but he was wide awake for a bit towards the end. Grandpa's voice was so calming that he kept talking back to him. I love this picture of him resting nicely in Grandpa's lap. Isn't he the cutest ever?! Love those nice kissy cheeks too!

Have a wonderful evening!

Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge Week #12

Greetings! We're at week #12 for Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge. This week Sparkle challenged us to us a sketch (it's posted on her blog). As I was looking through all of my stuff, trying to come up with an idea for this weeks card, I realized that I have very few Christmas stamps. For that matter, I have very few holiday stamps, in general. I keep using the same ones I have, over and over again. I do believe that I will have to do some online shopping this week for some new goodies! So maybe next week you won't have to look at the same sentiments and stamps again. LOL Go check out the challenge and Sparkle's BLOG. She's got some awesome creations! Have a wonderful day!

Delightful!

Hi everyone! I hope you're having a great weekend, so far! I went to bed early last evening and was up a lot earlier than I wanted, but that's ok. The good thing about it is that I got caught up on a couple things, and I feel rested. I put this card together for this coming weeks Cuttlebug Challenge over at PCP. This week I'm challenging everyone to emboss on vellum. I bet this technique would look awesome with alcohol inks to create a "stained window" kind of look. I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. They're all very talented and I enjoy seeing all of their different ideas based on the same technique. Maybe you'll have time to come join us in this weeks challenge! Have a great day! Hugs,

Make a Mojo Wish!

It's been a very busy week for me, so I haven't had much time to play. I'm just glad today is Friday and I've got two days to sleep in! :) I'm hoping to have more for you this weekend, but we'll have to see. I'm really exhausted. This is my take on this weeks Mojo Monday Sketch (#74). Have a great weekend!

Color Dare - CD04

Hi everyone! I'm SO excited about my first design team project! This is also The Color Dare design teams first challenge, CD04. This week Riley challenged us to use Gable Green, Close to Cocoa, Bordering Blue, Brilliant Blue and Sahara Sand. These were perfect for a certain little man's birthday, which will be here very soon. He's our little monkey man, so this set was perfect for this project! I stamped the image twice on white cardstock in Ranger Black Archival ink. I colored my image with Close to Cocoa, Wild Wasabi, Kiwi Kiss and Soft Sky, using a blender pen on the changito and tree. I cut him out and added him on top of the second stamped image using foam dimensionals. I stamped one of the leaves from the same set in Versamark ink on Sahara Sand and then embossed with clear embossing powder. I layered the Sahara Sand cardstock on a Bordering Blue card base, and added a strip of Close to Cocoa designer series paper and two silver brads. My image was double matted onto Gable Green and Brilliant blue and then layered onto my card base as well. My sentiment was stamped on Sahara Sand cardstock in Memento Paris Dusk dye ink and run through my Cuttlebug using the smallest of my Labels Small Nestability dies. I love these colors together, and they work well for a cute, little boy Birthday card. Don't forget to check out the challenge over at The Color Dare blog and my fellow design team members blogs below for their take on this challenge. Deb Felts Mandy Sarver I hope everyone has a fabulous day! Supplies: Cardstock: SU! My Exciting News - Finally!

I'm SO excited to finally be able to spill the beans! You guys have waited patiently, and I can't wait any longer. I have to tell everyone! LOL I have been chosen for two Design Teams! I am now a proud member of The Color Dare and The Cuttlebug Spot design teams. These are wonderful blogs for challenging everyone and I hope you guys will visit them often. The Color Dare challenges are posted every Wednesday, and The Cuttlebug Spot challenges are posted every Monday. I've added everyone's blog info to my sidebar for quick reference. All of my fellow design team members are amazingly talented and I just know you'll be inspired on a very regular basis! I can now check this goal off of my list for this year! Thanks to those of you who told me you thought I could do it. Your support is what gave me the confidence to apply. :) Have a fabulous day! Hugs,

Wishing You Good Things

I have a friend who has been a bit overwhelmed with life lately. I put this together to try to cheer her up a bit. This is also my take on this weeks challenge over at The Cuttlebug Spot. We were to use our Cuttlebug, and include bling. My bling consists of my Sakura Startust Pen. I used it to fill in some little spots along the bottom embossed area, and all of the tiny dots that were created by my Swiss Dots embossing folder. I'm afraid that you can't really see the sparkle on the Swiss Dots as well as I would have liked. It's much prettier in real life with all of the glitter. I hope you have a wonderful day!

Just Some Chit Chat :)

Hey ya'll! I hope everyone had a wonderful Valentine's Day! Last night my boys and I went to dinner at this really great seafood restaurant here in the area. Their special last night was a pound and a half of crab legs with all the fixings. Let me tell ya, they were the BEST crab legs I've ever had! It took us over an hour to finish everything, but it was SO worth it! The boys also got me a card, and Mikey was so proud because he signed his own name. It was really cute! We've had a very nice, calm, relaxing weekend and I'm a very happy girl. We were recently notified that M's corporate was going to hold their first round of layoffs. Unfortunately, Stephen was included in that first round. His last day will be the 27th of March. It's unfortunate, but he isn't worried about it. He's happy that he will be able to do something related to what he's going to school for, while he finishes up his last few months of school. In all, he's taking everything in stride, and is being his normal, calm self about it. I'm just thankful that through everything he maintains his wonderful, positive outlook on everything. I honestly think I was more worried about it than he was! LOL My Project365 enthusiasm was very short lived. I have decided that I'm not all that interested in doing it anymore. I don't really have the time anyway. I guess some things are better left for others. :) I recently got some exciting news! Make sure to check back tomorrow, and Wednesday, the 18th, to find out what I'm talking about! Have a wonderful day! Steph

Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge Week #11

Time is definitely flying by! We're at week #11 for Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge. Gosh, it seems like yesterday I was still trying to get ready for the holidays, and it's the middle of February already! This week Sparkle challenged us to make our cards using only red and white. I've had this embossed flower paper for a while now, and I'm happy I finally got to use it. It's been sitting in my scraps for almost three years! No, I don't have a problem getting rid of anything now, do I?! LOL You should check out Sparkle's BLOG for all of the details on this challenge, and her amazing creations. Have a great day!

I only have one post for you today, as I am running around trying to get things done so that I can spend the rest of the weekend with my boys. :) This is a quick and simple card I made using a Cuttlebug layering technique. It is also my card for this weeks Cuttlebug-ers Challenge I will be posting on Monday. If you're looking for something a bit different, you should come play along with us at PCP. I hope everyone is having a wonderful Valentine's Day! Much love,

Color & Sketch Challenge In One!

I was determined to get another layout done soon, and the sketch over at Papertake Weekly was perfect! I combined it with this weeks SCS Color Challenge where we were to use Pink Pirouette, Perfect Plumb, and Kiwi Kiss. I think these colors are wonderful together! The picture is my sister and brother in law on their Wedding day. It was a perfect day in Mexico and they were both stunning and happy, and glowing. I'm happy that they have each other. I love them lots! Hugs,

Mojo Pink Elephant

I recently came upon a new challenge blog called The Pink Elephant. It looks like it's going to be a wonderful new blog for challenging all of us! Their first challenge was a color challenge. We were to use pink, black and white. I combined those colors with this weeks Mojo Monday sketch. I'm SO excited I found a place to take a decent indoor picture! The weather here has been gray and overcast, so I'm really pleased that I figured this indoor picture thing out. :) So what do ya'll think? Did I manage to do ok on my picture? LOL I hope you guys have a great evening!

Love 4 Justin Timberlake

This is why I {heart} Justin Timberlake! Not only is he a cute boy, he's always been so funny. I can't stop laughing!!! Much love to Emilie Ahern for posting this. I've looked EVERYWHERE trying to find this to share with ya'll. I could watch this over and over and never tire of it. I hope you get as much of a laugh out of it as I always do. Enjoy!!

It's a Two-fer!

Meaning two for one! LOL This card turned out a lot cuter than I expected. I have never made a card with such bright colors. This week Riley challenged us to make something using Ballet Blue, Summer Sun and Green Galore. I matched the colors as best as I could, and this is my result. This is also my take on this weeks Sketch Challenge over at PCP. I know someone who has a birthday coming up, and who LOVES green, so this may just have to go to them! I hope everyone is having a fabulous weekend! Hugs,

Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge Week #10

Hey ya'll! We're at week #10 of Sparkle's Christmas Card Challenge. This card is also my take on this weeks Christmas Stamping All Year Long sketch. I'm really happy that I get to slowly make all of my Christmas cards, one week at a time. I already feel less stressed out about them. I'm glad Sparkle and Maria have put these two groups together to help get Christmas out of the way early! Thanks guys! You can find all of the details of Sparkle's Challenge on her BLOG. Check it out! She's also got some amazing projects posted! Have a great day!

Thinking of You, Again...

This is a card that came together VERY quickly. I got the idea from Mel Stampz blog. Once I picked my paper, it was done in about 10 minutes. It's probably one of the easiest, and quickest cards I've ever made. This is for this coming weeks Cuttlebug Challenge at PCP. The challenge is Embossed Frames. If you get the chance, come play along with us! Have a great day!

For My Mom

I just got my new goodies from SU! Stamp Club and I could not wait to play with my Bella Rose DSP!! I immediately knew I wanted to use this for my mom's Valentine this year. I can't believe I waited SO long to order this paper. My gosh, it's gorgeous!! Once again, I'm trying to use more "white space". I'm really happy with this card. The colors in real life are gorgeous. I'm going to use this for this weeks Mojo Monday sketch challenge, and this weeks Papertake Weekly challenge which is to use hearts or flowers (or both). I hope my mom enjoys this card as much as I enjoyed making it for her. I love her lots!! Hugs,

The Man Valentine

What is it about masculine cards that make them so difficult? Maybe it's the idea of it turning out really cheesy? Or, maybe it's that I can't add flowers or bling without it looking stupid. Or, when he opens it and says: "oh, thanks" with a frown. Whatever the reason, I still struggle a lot when it comes to even getting anything done for any of the guys I know. Fortunately, little by little, I am being challenged, and challenging myself to get over it and just go for it. I created this card for the two challenges listed below. CBCC #24 - Create a masculine Valentine SNSS Challenge Sketch #12 Thanks for stopping by!

As You Wish

I was SO excited when I found out which movie was chosen for this weeks Cinema Saturday challenge! I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE "The Princess Bride"!! After putting all of this together, I looked at it and then wondered, will I be disqualified because I used a picture from the movie?! LOL This is my first time participating in these challenges, and I'd hate to be kicked out, but I love my card, and I want to post it. I decided to go ahead and go for it! I guess the worst that could happen is that they ask me to remove it, right? Anyway, this challenge is also for this weeks Sketch Challenge over at PCP. What a fun card! So, what's your favorite movie? I was a very busy girl this weekend, so keep reading to see all of the cards I put together! I've got lots of stuff to post tonight! Much Love,

Celebrate!

What a fantastic color combination! I love the way this turned out. It's very masculine, and we all know I have trouble with those kinds of cards! LOL I got to play with my Copics again, and that makes me happy. :) This card is for two challenges. I've listed them below. It's the first time ever that a card has actually turned out exactly how I envisioned it. LOL Taylored Expressions - Cupcake Challenge #53 (my first time participating!) PCP Color Challenge - CCJAN3109 - Kiwi Kiss, Ballet Blue & Chocolate Chip I've got more, so keep reading!
