Unscripted Sketches #30

Happy Saturday everyone! 

Today is my favorite day of the year.  It's my birthday, and it's the one day that I don't have to do anything I absolutely don't want to. :)  So, for this birthday, my 34th, I've made plans to stay home, be a bum, eat cake, and scrap the day, and night away!  Sounds like heaven to me at the moment!  I've decided to extend the blog candy deadline, so I will be announcing that later in the month. 

Today brings us to another Unscripted Sketches Sketch it Saturday challenge!  This weeks sketch is another fantastic one, and can be used in many different ways.  I've decided to create another layout in hopes of trying to get caught up again on all of my pictures I've taken recently.  I wanted to use the colors in the photo, which are actually quite fantastic together.  I love the red, black and white or cream color combo.  It's very appealing to my eye, and has kind of an elegant feel to it.  So here is my layout.  This is my new fur-nephew, Vinyl.  He's about 7 months old, and the most adorable thing ever!!

I am actually quite pleased with my results, as I combined flowers and flourishes with a masculine theme.  I love the little paw prints and bones border stamp also.  I finally got to use it!  I used some black fiber along the strip of striped paper, under the flower so that it would give the layout more dimension, and to try to mimic his soft fur.  I'm thinking I may frame this and give it to my sister and brother in law as a Christmas gift.  They're unable to have children, so he will be their "baby" for as long as God allows them to have him.
