Kristina Werner Color Inspiration #28

I'm really excited about this card. I've always wanted to try to make a round card, but this is the first one I've ever done! I feel quite accomplished now. LOL I have a feeling there will be a lot more round cards in everyone's future! :)

This is my submission for Kristina Werner's Color Inspiration #28. We were to use the above colors she chose. I have limited SU! supplies, so I tried to match the colors as best as I could.

Have a great day!

Two SCS Challenges

This is my submission for two challenges over at Splitcoaststampers. The first is the Color Challeng for this week (CC190) - Tangerine Pink Kisses. We were to use the colors Tangerine Tango, Pixie Pink and Kiwi Kiss. I am just starting to build up my Stampin Up! supplies, so I tried to match the colors as best as I could. They are actually quite cute for a certain someone's 12th birthday. *wink* The secone is the Sketch Challenge for this week (SC200). My twist on this card was to punch through the card to reveal the stamp on the inside, instead of using punched out shapes down the right hand side of the card. I'm very happy with my card.

Chirper Challenge #7

This is my submission for Chirper Challenge #7. We were to use the color orange, good old standard office staples, and the word Thanks, Thank You or Thankful. I'm not a huge fan of orange, so this was a difficult challenge for me. I think it turned out pretty well though. Kudos to Becky for giving me a few flowers to use, they look awesome! My fellow design team members have submitted some fantastic work also. You can check them out HERE! I'm SO excited that we are now starting to have our first few days of fall weather, I just hope it continues! It's time to break out the sweaters, and hot chocolate and find your special someone to snuggle with. I love the fall! Have a great evening!

Happy Birthday Patricia!

Patricia is one of my favorite co-workers. She's always happy and cheerful, and she does a good job of keeping me laughing. Between her and my team member, Aroldo, it's amazing we get any work done! LOL Monday was her birthday, so this is the card I made for her, in her favorite colors. She loved it! Hope everyone has a great day!

Three In One

This is my submission for three challenges over at Splitcoaststampers.

The first is CC189 - Pink Chocolate Kisses. We were to use Pink Pirouette, Chocolate Chip and Kiwi Kiss.

The second is the card sketch challenge SC199, vertical.

The third is WT189 - Just One...Word, that is. We could only use one word for the sentiment on the front of the card. We also HAD to use pink somewhere.

I stamped flowers in Pink Pirouette onto my pink cardstock and then used my Threading Water punch on both sides. I also stamped some circles from the SU! All In A Row set on the pink cardstock under the sentiment. I added chocolate colored ribbon and put all of my elements onto a cream colored card front. I then added it to a chocolate colored card. I dyed some mini "skittles" and used them as embellishments.

All in all I'm very happy with my results. These colors are beautiful together.

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!

Hugs!

SCS WT188 Mad For Plaid & LSC190 Single Blue Eye

Here is my submission for two challenges over at Splitcoaststampers.
The first is the Ways To Use It Challenge (WT188), Mad For Plaid. We were to use plaid in our submission.
The second is the Limited Supplies Challenge (LSC190), Single Blue Eye. We were only allowed to use one sheet of designer paper, eyelets, the color blue and one ribbon.
I'm fairly happy with my card, but you should go over to the SCS site and check out all of the beautiful submissions. I'm truly inspired by everyone's amazing talents and creations.
Have a good evening!

Hey Everyone!

Good evening ya'll! I'm happy to report that I am over whatever it was I had last week, and I am feeling much better! Work continues to keep me busy as we head into yet another end of month. I'm not sure how much I will get done with the end of month starting this Friday, but I am going to try to do at least two or three posts within the next week. Thanks for all of the well wishes! Hugs!

Color Inspiration #26

I've been a huge fan of Kristina Werner for a while now. She's like my Yoda of paper crafting. All of her ideas are amazingly beautiful and very inspiring. I feel like a kid in a candy store when she posts her new videos on Monday's and Friday's. You can check out all of her wonderful creations HERE to see what I'm talking about.
This week the challenge was to use Rose Red, Bashful Blue, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi and Whisper White, as seen above. These colors are very pretty all together, and for my first submission, I think I did ok.
I'm hoping this is just the first of many Color Inspiration Challenges I will be able to participate in.

SCS CC188 - Basic Pirouettes & My Card for Cara

I'm feeling better today, but now am battling a very powerful headache. I'm hoping it will subside soon! With the weather not wanting to decide if it wants to stay cool or hot, it sure does mess with me.
Recently, I received an email stating that one of my fellow SHOT members was ill. They are waiting to hear back as to her diagnosis. I will continue to keep her and her family in my thoughts and prayers.
This is the card I made for her, and also my submission for the SCS Color Challenge for this week. Our goal was to use Basic Black, Pink Pirouette and Whisper White. This is a perfect combination of two of my favorite colors.

SCS LSC189 - Rock, Paper, Scissors & Chirper Challenge #6

I'm still not feeling that great, but I hadn't posted this yet. The Limited Supplies Challenge for this week was to use only paper, bling or metal embellishments, and a straight edge paper trimmer. This is my submission for that challenge. It is also my submission for Chirper Challenge #6. We were to use a mosaic sketch with a sentiment, the color brown, and a flourish.
Not my best work, but I love the colors.

My Itty Bitty Scrap Space

I don't have a lot of scrap space, as you can see. So, I'm always on a continueous journey to try to find new, and inventive ways to organize what little space I do have. Here is a picture of my itty bitty scrap space. It has the newly added rail with baskets I got at Ikea this weekend. I will be purchasing a couple more of these in the near future. Good thing the cost is minimal. I think it was $10, total, for the rail and two baskets.
I officially have a cold now, thanks to the flu shot I got on Monday. I'm not sure I will be up to creating until I feel better, but we'll see what happens.

Sock Monkey Slippers

On Saturday, while shopping at Target with Becky, I came across the most adorable Sock Monkey slippers. Aren't they fabulous?! Becky said she already had a pair that she loves, so I had to grab a pair of my own! Fortunately, they were only $13. I'm thinking my sister would love a pair too. I may have to go back and get her some. I got my flu shot yesterday at work, and I'm really starting to feel the effects of it today. I normally don't get ill until two or three days afterwards, but this time it wasted no time in making me feel bad. Ugh! Good thing I got my new slippers to keep my feet warm while I'm sick!
Have a great day!

Here He Is!

Becky and I got to M's around 8:40am. We figured we'd have to fight through the crowd to even get a peek of him. To our surprise, we were the first ones there! There weren't very many people behind us when they opened the doors at 9am either. We were the first ones to hug him, first ones to take pictures of him, and first ones to smell him! My gosh, he smelled SO good!!! LOL He was very down to earth, and answered all of everyones questions. He's also got a great sense of humor and cracked jokes the whole time. He's amazingly talented and we were so happy that we got the opportunity to meet him. He was also nice enough to give us each and autographed tag, that he made.
We had made plans to go to an all day crop, but when we heard about him coming, we had to go do that first. We hit IKEA for the first time, and had a great time looking around there also. I only spent $12!! Can you believe it?! I will definitely be back! We then went to dinner, and then headed to the crop, where we gushed about Tim, of course. :)
We had a blast!! It was a well needed girls day out!

We're going to meet Tim Holtz!

I saw on the Splitcoaststampers message board that Tim Holtz is going to be at the Grand Opening of the Michael's in Hurst. That's OUR M's!!! OH...MY...GOSH! I'm SO excited! Becky and I are like kids waiting to go to Disneyland! LOL When I mentioned it to Stephen, he said he'd seen him walking around his office (Stephen works for M's corporate, by the way) all day! I asked why he hadn't said anything and he said he didn't realize it was something we needed to know. Is he crazy?!! He has now been instructed to email us as soon as he finds out someone, scrapbooking related, is coming to town! A little obsessive you say? I know! But it's Tim Holtz! Anyway, Becky and I decided it's a good thing we found out he was here, because it may have been something we'd have to pick on Stephen for, had he gotten to meet him, and we didn't! Becky's got her camera ready! Yay for us! :)

Funniest video ever!

So Stephen, being the awesomely funny man that he is, sent me the link to the funniest video I've seen in a long time. It's a dubbed version of the 80's music video Take On Me by A-Ha. The original song is one of my favorites, so he couldn't resist. I've added it to my list of favorite videos on my sidebar, but you can also click HERE to see it. Enjoy!

SCS CC187 - Chocolate Tangerine Kisses

This is my first official submission for one of the Splitcoaststampers color challenges. Our challenge was to use Chocolate Chip, Tangerine Tango (or Pumpkin Pie) and Kiwi Kiss (or Old Olive). I'm new to SCS but I think it was an awesome decision. It will be the kind of push I need to really get, and keep, my creativity flowing. Of course this does mean that I am going to be even more enabled, and therefore, will have to spend more money! I may need to enter some kind of a 12 step program. I need to be within 12 steps of my supplies at ALL times! LOL

Yay! Look at me!

So I originally thought that I wasn't going to need a blog. Then I started doing some searching, and realized that in fact I would have to set up a blog for my stuff if I wanted to participate in a few activities that required it. So, here we go! I'm working on getting things updated, so bear with me!
